I am confused by this sign. By “clean up” and showing a golf club instead of a plastic bag, are they suggesting you thwack it into the bushes, or is there a hole somewhere that I need to bogey?
Ha! I’ve checked the IR signature of every “security camera” on this street. They all dead, Jim. I doubt they’re even wired up, if I judge by the ones in this building.
It was raining last night and I tried a long exposure, and got this as a car passed by leaving a nice red contrail, but the stock firmware only allows exposures 15 seconds long, and I had to open up the apeture to 2.8 to get enough light for the foreground. Really need CHDK on there to force the camera to do exposures out to a half-hour or more and stop way down to get that super-sharp wide focal range. I’ve loaded CHDK onto the SD card in “Firmware Update” mode, so I can just turn it on and off by restarting the camera in the firmware I want to use. I’ll be trying that tonight.
It stopped raining today and so I took off from the porch to explore the grounds of the communal building we are currently exiled to. Bye, porch!
Re-visited this little shrine to a purple-flowered plant, which the building’s children had left offerings to. Acorns to draw in the squirrels, I suppose.

Very nice tour! Lots more trees and greenery than here in the desert. I like your curiosity as a photographer in exploring the details of your area.

Thanks for another set of excellent photos capturing that town’s thick atmosphere: anthropomorphic trees, stacked and tilting houses, no parking signs that seem like biblical commandments.

I have made preparations, I have obtained a busted up e-trike from a neighbor moving out and will be fixing that up for my town transpo. Not sure if the electrics can be saved after at least a year sitting out in snow & rain, but the bones look solid and it’s still a single-speed pedaler.
