I fully sympathize with your loss of that house. That is a wonderful addition to a house. I’m still mourning the loss of my 4 X 5 enlarger system in FL. I never had a darkroom.
We’ve been toying with a move to VA to be closer to relatives and I hoped to get a house with a radio shack (neat second tiny house behind the bigger house) on 5 acres.
oh yeah. finished full basement with a *huge* “family room” and 3 other workrooms all with built-in wall shelves/cabinets/worktables and multiple closets plus the darkroom – and that’s just the basement. It was beautimus! :P
Well, look on the bright side: When you move into your swanky new pad, wherever & whenever that may be, I bet you could make turn one of the rooms in it into a FAR better darkroom than that dump! In fact, I don’t “bet” it – I GUARENTEE it!
Oof! Really rough to lose out on that. I can only hope something so much better for you is on the horizon; that in looking back will make you actually feel grateful this hottie fell through.
Clearly an issue with the plumbing there, but that’s not difficult to fix.
