CotM: Trash Whirlpools and a Disconcertingly Designed Stool

I played around with HDR stuff and the Powershot today, but was unimpressed with my results. I keep thinking that I can get that 1950’s cookbook look, and just end up getting something that looks filthy. A bit over a fortnight’s worth of days to kill before my EXILE IS ENDED and I can get to unpackin’ my STUFF. So how about a couple more “Not So Still Lifes”?

There are places in the world where gravitons crackle and spark, interacting with Ley Lines and the Earth’s magnetic fields to create Trash Whirlpools. No matter how well maintained a yard is, if there is a Trash Whirlpool there, things will accumulate, pinned to the ground with some force that acts to prevent people from cleaning the area up. It will suck in detritus, old water bottles, discarded vapes, street signs – even stones will gather here, drawn by the slow, steady force collecting what’s loose in the world and binding it to the earth. Documenting Trash Whirlpools in New England seems like it would be a rich photographic subject, given how the yards are so well-kept here, and how hidden behind some garage or deep in a basement nearby lies a persistent, decades-old Trash Whirlpool. A fascinating pseudo-scientific study, I’m certain.

And now, “A Very Asymetric Stool That Someone Left In The Yard”. A perfect example of design and construction in a place where NOBODY BELIEVES IN NINETY DEGREE ANGLES. I AM LITERALLY LIVING IN THE CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI! (on so many levels)

  1. I think you’ve accidentally discovered the two governing forces of New England: entropy and anti-Euclidean carpentry.
