And tonight, the old computers in the house get Linux Mint XFCE on ’em, and “easyfied” setup with a browser with her account-wide saved settings and little else. the existing laptop is too old for Win 11, and I wouldn’t curse my worst enemy with that nonsense, so we make the old machine safe to use as a backup with modern Linux. I expect she’ll just use the Chromebook from now on, but never hurts to have a backup machine that’s also safe to use. No way I’m going to let her run Win 7 anymore, though – that’s not even remotely safe on today’s internets.
Good to hear everything is going well.
Mint XFCE instead of Arch or MX? I find both less resource heavy than even Mint XFCE.
