My experience with Facebook: it’s a very powerful tool for connecting and sharing, but not in depth, and of course, the site sucks up and exploits as much of your personal information as it possibly can. I did not like having a personal account on there, and now I use a pseudonym. For professional and commercial contacts, it can be great.
A houseful of Canadian women dressed in black like like a troupe of female Johnny Cash impersonators, all waving Kegel balls. That is what brought this on. I kid you not. I will totally take a picture to prove it.
oh, you mean the life-changing thing, not the bachelorette party. A business opportunity that will require me to have my SocMed chops in order. It’s time to drink the Kool-Aid.
I’m exactly the opposite of Bill. I get a lot out of facebook, not much from linkedin as yet. Maybe I just don’t know how to use it. I have a lot of connections on both, and I now feel like writing out my experiences with them. Thanks for giving me a topic for my next post!
This doesn’t exactly qualify you as a class traitor (do they have those in the US?) but welcome to the pit. I hate it all but there’s the odd chirrup from old friends who lost my phone number/e-mail address, so it comes in handy as long as you don’t dwell on it. I dread to think what business opportunities I’ve lost through the cavalier way I threw my LinkedIn profile together…
I have accounts on both, but rarely visit either. Both are time-wasters, IMHO. I only keep them for the occasional contact that finds me there. I’m shocked how obsessed some people have become with these.
I use linkedin. In fact, the ‘maybe soon’ changes to our situation here, have been as a result of linkedin. Facebook however. Well…. That’s a different story. Let me tell you a tale of woe and anguish of Facebook someday.
I like LinkedIn. Been on it for years.
Severe dislike for Facebook. Never had nor want on that in secure site.
