Anyway, even the constant drizzly rain cannot quench the fires of the foliage changing colors as we round into Fall. These once emerald-green hedges have suddenly caught alight despite the soaking they’re getting. Good thing there’s a FIREPLUG nearby! :D

I used to put plastic bags over my camera and make a hole in it so I could fasten in under the UV filter behind the lens hood when I was in college. Later it came in handy in the fire service until I got my Nikonos II.

y’all have classy fire hydrants (hadn’t heard of the term Fireplug – Johnny Pump?) there in Connecticut. And your neighbor has a dapper hat to match…
Heh, yuh – designed for the environment – in the desert we had short, fat yellow hydrants because you didn’t have to worry about finding them in snowbanks. Here, they’re tall, red and have little reflectors on tall poles attached to them.
