  1. I am so very much enjoying being on this journey with you, both the whole journey of life as well as this particularly large journey of moving cross-country sight unseen. *mwah*

  2. Congratulations on getting settled. I hope you soon get a snow you can enjoy. We just had 10 inches of the neat packing snow. I had to make a snow man. We get feet of lake effect snow, and that is too light and fluffy to make snow men. Oh, moving snow is fun with a snow blower.

    1. I made a snow owl, and discovered if you set such a thing on a wooden porch rail overnight, it adheres like a weld. /:

Some people here have mentioned that we are out of range of the “Lake Effect” snow and something about the ocean that makes for relatively mild snow here. The weather mechanics here are much more complex than I’m used to and driven by entirely different variables. It will take some time to figure out why things are happening.

  3. Congrats! We got a dusting of 2-3 inches here in ABQ but it melted off by the afternoon. I will be firing off a letter to you soon!

    1. Well, I’ve already sent one to you, so let’s see if I beat you to it. :D

    1. precipitation is a vacation. (:

  4. Pretty snow! Your hot cocoa looks amazing – perfect for indoor snow appreciation and hygge.

    1. Heh, you reminded me of my grandma “Tiny”, who provided me with a whopping *SEVEN* grandfathers throughout her life (I especially liked Benson – he had a Willys Jeep and took me out rock hunting in the desert). She taught me to hate Lutefisk by overdose. :D

  5. Your new location looks lovely! I’m glad you’re taking to the new climate and finding the “home” vibes.

  6. Man, that road you’re stayin’ on would be perfect for sledding!

    1. Heh, that’s every road, every yard. It’s all hills. The residents here built a firepit on the flattest bit of ground near the house, and *that* has a 30 degree slope. :D

      1. Don’t know how I missed this the first time; Congrats on getting into your new (if only temporary) digs! Just put my Christmas card to you in the mail!

  7. Best wishes for settling into a new place and a new home. The photos of some of the buildings look so classic; it looks like one has four large chimneys. And snow. There’s that, too.

    1. Yeah, we’re on the top of a hill with some old hospital buildings to one side, a high school across another street (barely visible through trees) and some kind of accelerated school across another street. Old brick buildings and some weird thing that looks like it was made of shipping containers. Interesting architectural diversity.
