15 Year Blogiversary! :D

{edit 10-26-2025}
Well, as you can see from the above date, I typed this up more than a week ago. As it is now the 26th rather than the 23rd and I am still in Cinderblock Cell 11 rather than in the new rental, we can surmise that God threw us a doozy of a joke. :P

Girl 1 completed her away mission despite feeling increasingly sick and then had to go to the hospital in CT. One successful emergency gall bladder removal (filled with pus and stones the largest of which I reckoned to be the mass of two .45 slugs & a .22) and she is still recovering nicely.

This has of course extended the AWAY MISSION. Current target for completion of our transition to the Eastern seaboard is Halloween on the nose. I CAN HEAR YOU CACKLING YOUR PUNK ASS OFF UP THERE IN THE CLOUDS, GOOD LORD! DON’T YOU *DARE* THINK I WON’T REMEMBER THIS TASTELESS BIT OF FUNNY BUSINESS!!!

{insert stars & snakes & unicorns & daggers circling around head}

wait… where am I? (reads back) OOOHH.. That Book of Job shit again, dammit. *SIGH*

{later that night…}

Tonight, Typewriter Hunter gkmandigo noticed some oddities in his Facit gallery on TWDB. For the moment, the “1622” is undergoing more research by him to validate or further explain this designation. Interesting mystery to probe:

  1. Congratulations on 15 years of the blog…but concern for “Girl 1” and her recovery from surgery as well as your move to CT. I trust all of this will work out well this week. A year-by-year posting of the whole enchilada makes it possible to go back through the bog, kind of like thumbing through back issues of a magazine, and to keep track of what one had already read. By the way, one of my favorite typewriter-related posts involved mounting a typewriter to a tripod to facilitate field typing, using a steel plate and bolt of some sort. Perhaps it will greet you when you’re able to open up a storage pod!?

    1. She’s doing pretty well, surgery was very successful. (:

      Ahh yes, that’s the Monster Scouts one! Added a camera tripod mount base to it so it would attach to a standard tripod. You have to also mount a thin but fairly stiff board between the tripod and the typewriter to stabilize it while typing, since the floorplate of the Aristocrat is very thin steel. I used the cover of a 3-ring binder with a 2″ hole drilled in the middle. That one’s certainly coming out of the pod for forest typing.
