Typecasts In Exile: Rockin’ PDCs Out To Defend My Dream

Sorry for yet another Expanse reference – the show is just really speaking to me right now, everyone hanging in liminal space searching for a new safe home, fighting off the hostiles that threaten to break the fragile shell that protects you from OBLIVION. Maybe after I finish rewatching The Expanse, I might re-watch the Oughties Battlestar Galactica. At least the first 3 seasons, before it started to drag and before going full-on hallucinogenic.

  1. My late good friend Jim was a HUGE fan of ‘The Expanse’ and your musings have caused me to think about watching the series once the white stuff hits the ground in these parts, and continued good luck with finding a new home… :)

  2. The ups & downs of house finding. Hope you soon get one.

  3. You should have seen how many homes I had to make offers on before I got the one I’m in now! In one instance, there were 25 other bidders and I wasn’t even close. I just simply prayed that God would out me where he wanted me. “I’ll do the work of searching, you make it happen.” Took over four months, but in the end, I got a real peach in a great neighborhood!

  4. Currently reading LEVIATHAN WAKES.

  5. I’ve spent the last double-digit minutes catching up on your last several posts: what a roller coaster! It reads like a good story featuring plenty of plot twists, adventure, hope, disappointment, hope, a typewriter (at last!), cats… and a chicken! I’m glad I got to ride in the ol’ Honda; I love my HR-V, but the big brother CR-V is likely better suited to snow. Either would be great for hauling typewriters around. I’m sure you’ll have plenty of exciting new sounds to capture with your Zoom recorder. I’m excited to read the next chapter of your saga. Oh, and you totally sold me on The Expanse. That will be my next watch after catching up on Doctor Who.
