Well, I took all these photos on the toy “Loopy Peace” camera and gave out the resulting thermal photos, which was fun. These are the color digital copies that the camera saves on the card. They’re pretty awful, but here they are, mixed in randomly with typings gathered up after the event in a sort of dadaist glide through the experience:
Well, considering the payoff on the front end where I get to hand people fun printouts of their typing experience, I guess I can live with backup photos that look like they’ve gone through a posterize filter. :P
Good to see you like that camera I sent ya; Your really giving it a workout! I can’t wait to go to a type-in. Who’s to say when that’ll be, but it’ll happen, just you wait!
Yea- it’s pretty cool to be able to hand the subject an artsy little black & white photo of them at the typewriter right on the spot. Type-Ins are a great way to see the other people who understand this little fascination. I highly recommend them! :D
For whatever reason when I clicked on the link to this post in The Mighty Blogroll I thought that I was headed to JVC’s blog. All the way through the post I kept thinking to myself “man this doesn’t feel like Joe’s blog, maybe I missed where it was noted that it was a guest post or something?” It wasn’t until I made it all the way down to the bottom of the post and began reading the comments section that I finally took notice of the familiar Munk background artwork running down each side of the screen.
It seems that growing old is its own adventure at times. Sigh…
I enjoyed reading the post, and chuckled over the typing debris left behind afterward. In this computerized age, it’s surprising how many folks know the “Now is the time for all good men…” line–unless one person went from macine to machine with that line! It sounds like a great event.
Fantastic! And those pix ain’t so bad either!

Thanks Ted.
I’m keeping mine.
There’s going to be another in Pasadena. You going ?

Great report by the way. 😄
Congrats on the fine event! Photos are quite good from that ole camera.
This is really funny. Reading through the pages, I feel like I am under the influence of a mild hallucinogen.
Type-Ins are always a good party! :D
