When Correspondent Gregory was here the other day(s), he brought a package and we exchanged gifts that would normally have been mailed. We also talked about film cameras over Forearm Burritos from Alibertos and the Canon SureShot Owl came up as a favorite, inspiring me to haul out one of mine. Famed for its large, bright, well-magnified viewfinder and powerful flash, the Owl is pretty much the point-n-shoot 35mm film camera in its prime. I haven’t bothered to keep any other 35mm P&S, but I have TWO of these Owls. This one has a long-forgotten roll of film in it with about 15 frames left to shoot, so maybe I’ll play around with that – it’s not like one more roll of film in the “to develop” drawer is gonna hurt. :D
The other Owl I have is known as “The Murder Camera“.
This is excellent! I cannot explain how much fun I had visiting you and Brian. I’m glad you enjoyed the giftage. Oh, that reminds me! I still need to check out the things you gave me. I’ve been scrambling to catch up and finish my Basics of Drawing class. Now I’m on to Biology! This class has a much better pace, and I got to watch a video of a bonobo ape playing Pac Man.
By the way, the bus ride home was MURDER! Moments after checking out from the motel, I received a message that the bus was running TWO-AND-A-HALF HOURS LATE. Motel staff let me temporarily check back in, thank goodness. The night on the bus resulted in no more than two hours of restless sleep. Nevertheless, it was all worth it to get to hang out with three of the coolest peeps on the planet. But next time, I’m taking the train.
Thank you for coming! It was a delight! :D
Yuh, trips home are always a bear. I think it’s God reminding us that he doesn’t like us zipping around in metal tubes or something – He likes to delay and make you *ache* for your own bed. Remember when Brian and I got re-routed to California on the ABQ-Phoenix flight because God struck the Sky Harbor control tower with a bolt of lightning as we were coming in to land? Yeah, I took that a little personally. We had words, the Almighty and I. /:
